About the event
Nightmares of PTSD and Complex Trauma often call for a different treatment approach from the usual rescripting of ST. Dreams on the other hand are often a valuable resource for accessing the vulnerable child mode.
In addition dreams play a critical role in memory consolidation including clients' experience in therapy sessions.
Come and learn how to include this in your Schema Therapy practice.
"I didn’t realise that til I asked the questions how many people have bad nightmares. Anyway the really remarkable thing is in the past week I have had 2 clients give me feedback that after only one session that for one client she has ceased having nightmares and for another she was able to gain control over her nightmare so that within it she said she was able to get up and drive away from her assailants. Other clients who have been rehearsing had reported decreased levels of anxiety around sleep."
